Dominus Flevit Church, Jerusalem

In 2005, I travelled in Israel with some people from my church (NG Bergsig). I took this picture at the Dominus Flevit Church in Jerusalem. “Dominus Flevit” means “the cry of the Lord”. One tradition says that the church was built at or near the place where Jesus wept over the death of Lazarus (based on the story told in John 11). Others say that it is much rather the site where Jesus wept when He saw Jerusalem, as told in Luke 19. It is a small Franciscan Church, and it is located on the upper western slope of the Mount of Olives. The church was constructed in 1954.

You might see something very different in the picture that I saw. I, as a Christian, saw the picture as a kind of a prophecy that, ultimately, Christ will rule in Israel as well. There will be peace in Israel, and the answer to the war and conflict will ultimately be the love of Christ.

Jy mag dalk iets baie anders sien in hierdie foto as wat ek sien.

RHS Choir 2011 Gala Evening

Hallo people..

I am a rather newbie with regards to taking photo’s.

I will be using this wordpress to place my favourite photo’s.

These will mostly be the photos I myself take.

I might, hoewever, sometimes come across another photo that was taken by someone else and that I like, which I will add to this wordpress.
